Engagement Doesn't Begin When the Teacher Starts TalkingOne of the biggest misconceptions about student engagement is believing it begins with a great lesson. It doesn't. Student engagement begins the moment students walk through the classroom door. If students spend the first ten minutes waiting for directions, asking what they're supposed to do, or watching while everyone else gets settled, we've already lost valuable learning time. In this classroom, every learning studio has a clear purpose.
Instead of one teacher trying to engage twenty-five students at the same time, the classroom is intentionally designed so learning begins immediately. The teacher is free to do what matters most—work directly with students. The Goal Isn't Independence...
